Three simple rituals to add sacred time to your day
Life is a whirlwind. Some days I feel as if I don't even have a moment to take a breath, nonetheless enjoy a moment.
I need connection in my life. To be present and mindful, not only for myself, but for others. When I'm in alignment with my higher power, I'm aligned in my truth and can be more present in my relationships.
Who has time.... for meditation, a personal retreat or even self reflection? Rushing from place to place, activity to activity, or meeting to meeting...we get lost along the way.
Time is an elusive commodity, even if you want to connect more deeply ...who has the time?
You do. I do. We all have time. The key is to make everyday moments sacred.
These are three simple ways to add a little sacred to your life:
- Your morning shower. While you're getting sudsy and clean say a prayer of gratitude. Thank the Divine Light for all the wonderful bits and pieces happening in your life. By being thankful we set the tone for the day allowing for even more amazing to enter our lives. Taking a bath at night? Same principle...say thanks for all the good that happened throughout the day.
- Your morning cup of tea or coffee. Don't rush it, savor it. Breathe in the aroma, feel the warmth or coolness, and exhale any tension. Breathing helps us be present, grounding us to the moment. Take a few minutes to simply enjoy the act of drinking your morning beverage; no multi-tasking, simply relishing you morning drink.
- Your drive time. Turn off the radio for five minutes and set the tone for your day. Envision how you would like your day to unfold. Say a blessing for everyone you will encounter, visualize an easy commute or a successful outcome to that key meeting you have later in the morning. Coming home? Breath and release for a few minutes before leaving the parking lot and set the intention for how you want your evening to go...be present for your family and friends.
By making these everyday moments sacred, we open ourselves up to allowing for a deeper connection to our higher power, our loved ones and ourselves.
