How to begin a transformation

Change.

It's a word that strikes fear into millions. We sometimes get lost in its magnitude, while ignoring its blessings.

Change doesn't have to be an earth rattling, glass shattering experience, but a slow steady caress of a wave that transforms boulders into beach sand.

The caterpillar's the perfect metaphor for change.  I know.... she's over used.  But seriously, why else would the Divine create such an amazing creature, but for our lessons?

She loves slowly moving through the trees, eating green leafy things.  Life's great.  The days march on and she's fat and happy.  Never once does the caterpillar look beyond the moment at what's ahead.  Staying still or moving backwards isn't an option.

Change is inevitable for our adorable little bug.  Never once does the caterpillar say "Wait, slowdown.  I'm not ready!"  She recognizes the time to let go of the status quo; knowing that it's time to embrace a new way of being.  She cocoons herself and the transformation takes place.  No doubts. No fear.

She emerges. Radiant.  Transformed. With new capabilities- holy smokes- she can fly!!!

If you could change one thing in your life, knowing that waiting for you on the other side of transformation is a greater version of you and your life, what would it be?

Stuck as to how or where to begin?

I've found a simple gesture of gratitude to be a way to pivot my life. Instead of bemoaning what we don't have simply thank your higher power for what you do have.  When we recognize and are thankful for what we have, our faith expands.  We see that we are supported and loved.

From that place of faith, we can face uncertainty with strength. Change is no longer scary, but even a bit exciting.

Perhaps, we will fly....
