3 de-cluttering activities that leads to an energetic shift
I did it.
Finally.
Four years of hesitation, hiding and a bit of self denial, but I began the clearing.
I took a Sunday. I took a deep breath. I took my wedding dress to the thrift store.
I chose to move forward, respect the past, but close that energetic door.
There are times in our lives when our past - that has shaped who we are today- needs to be released. The lessons have been learned and honored, but the ties to the person or situation keep us from moving forward.
We feel it in our energy. It's a bit of a haze, or sluggish feeling around us that keeps us gripped tightly. A fear to move forward or to let go. We ask ourselves "will this time be different?"
Truthfully? No.
Unless we are willing to lighten our energy by breaking the connection to the past.
I'm ready. I've been divorced for over 4 years and the time has come to let romantic love back into my life. I've taken the time to discover who I am at my core. I've examined what went wrong, accepted my role, and identified my universal lessons. Most importantly, I've embrace my authentic self, healed a number of wounds and love myself with an intensity that is blinding.
Now, I'm lightening my energy. By de-cluttering my life. Physically, emotionally, and energetically, I'm preparing myself for a love miracle.
Clutter busting is a way to honor the past and it's lessons while releasing its hold on you in the present. Is there someone or an experience you want to finally put behind you? It's time to clutter bust your life.
Physical clutter. Get rid of the item that holds the memory, it carries a type of pain imprint. Everything is made up of energy, positive and negative. If those love letters cause your heart to hurt- throw them out. Holding on to the ring from a failed engagement or even a china set from an abusive mother? Rid your space of the items. Donate the items, have a bonfire, smash them or even just throw them away.
The point is to eliminate the lower energies from your home and your own aura. No more siren's song calling to you as you look over old photos. If the object triggers lower emotion such as sadness, anger, jealousy...it needs to go.
It's amazing how light you will feel- physically. That weight on the shoulders will lift and you'll step into the world feeling stronger.
This past month, I finally went through all the items from my first marriage. I won't lie the wedding dress was hard. I knew in my heart that my girls would never wear it-nor should they, because the dress carried the sadness of a failed dream. On their special day, they need to wear something that holds promise for a loving and amazing future. Letting go of the dress, I thanked it for making me feel beautiful. Then, with a lighter heart gave it to my local thrift store.
Emotional Clutter. This one is a bit more tricky. It requires true grit and raw honesty. For me, a letter is the best means for ridding myself of the emotional energy clogging me up. The energy flows from my heart through my hand to the paper. An emotional dumping.
It can be a letter to the person who has hurt me or a letter to myself about a situation that I regret. There are a few key elements for the letter writing.
The process is about ME and not the other person.
The letter must be positive. Focusing on the lessons I've learned and thanking the person or situation for helping me discover these lessons.
I must declare that I'm moving forward and what I want in my future life. I tell the person that their role in my life is over. Again, in a positive and loving way.
I read the letter, sign it and then destroy it. Burn it, rip it to shreds, flush it, or have the dog tear it up. This is the de-cluttering part. The letter is never given or mailed. It's simply an exercise for me- to give myself permission to release the past and welcome the future with open arms.
Energetic Clutter. People and situations attach energy cords to our energy fields. We attach to others and vice versa. When the cords are filled with negativity and lower energies such as shame, judgement or guilt, they drain us of our own positive energy.
You can tell when someone or a situation is sucking the energy right out of you. Your body feels drained, mind is sluggish and you can't shake the icky feelings.
We perpetuate and strengthen these cords when we keep replaying scenes from our past. We keep them fresh and the wounds wide open, just asking for others to take our energy-like they're at an all you can eat buffet. The madness needs to stop.
We can de-clutter our energy by cutting the energetic cords that are attached to us. This is done through a simple cord cutting meditation. You can find one online.
That's it. Three clutter busting exercises that will lighten your energy and help you move forward in embracing new experiences. Alone each is an effective tool, but used together they are powerful and will free your energy, making way for miracles.
